How the CPA led Victoria to achieve all her life's passions

Victoria is Designated For Greatness. She's proving to us all that anything is possible when you combine the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) skillsets, strong values, and a drive to make a meaningful difference.

This openness to possibility is the exact freedom that has given Victoria so much opportunity throughout her career. Her latest path has brought her to the forefront of an exciting and growing field.

"I currently work in cybersecurity, but thanks to the solid foundation of business knowledge that I gained from my CPA, I'm also able to run a startup on the side.”

Navigating between big tech and running her own business might seem like a lot of work, but Victoria credits her CPA and her upbringing as a New Canadian for giving her the drive and ambition to succeed.

“As an immigrant, I was initially driven – first and foremost – to provide financial stability for my family. We faced a lot of financial uncertainty growing up and I wanted to alleviate that for them.”

And the success hasn’t stopped since. Victoria has been awarded many accolades: Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner by WXN, CPA Ontario’s 2022 Emerging Leader Award, Canada’s Top 20 Women in Cybersecurity by IT World Canada, Top 10 under 40 by Canadian Security Magazine, and Top 30 Alumni Under 30 by York University.

Now, Victoria is taking all the lessons she’s learned and is giving back by teaching fourth year students about information security and the blockchain. All while completing her PhD at the Toronto Metropolitan University’s Cybersecurity Research Lab.
