Serena Luk, CPA

Serena channels her regulatory expertise, strategic leadership skills and commitment to innovation into tangible results for her colleagues and clients.

As Senior Manager, Finance Internal Audit at RBC, Serena spearheaded the development of the bank’s end-user analytics tool, which saves time for customers through data-driven insights, earning her the top 1% Conference Award in 2023. She also leads the audit group's brand-new employee giving campaign committee, building strategies to help RBC meet and exceed donation and participation goals in support of worthwhile causes.

At PwC Canada, Serena was among the first graduates of the Pathway Rotation program, delivering process improvement initiatives to senior management. While at HSBC Hong Kong, she supported the implementation of anti-money laundering and consumer due diligence initiatives.

Serena also brings extensive experience in navigating new IFRS standards, managing Sarbanes-Oxley Act controls, collaborating with Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions and U.S. regulators. She has also played a pivotal role identifying and acting on essential regulatory and standards reforms and efficiencies to strengthen her own organization’s control environment and building Canadians’ confidence in the profession.
