John McKenzie, FCPA, FCMA

John is the CEO of TMX Group, a role he has held since 2020 following over two decades of dedicated service to the organization. John oversees TMX Group’s operations and strategy, while also serving on its Board of Directors and the boards of several subsidiaries.

Throughout his career, John has demonstrated exceptional leadership, spearheading transformative acquisitions including the Montreal Exchange, Trayport, and the landmark Maple transaction. Before his appointment as CEO, he served as Chief Financial Officer, where he managed corporate strategy, development, and financial oversight. His tenure also includes leadership roles such as President, COO and CFO of CDS, Canada’s equity and fixed income clearing house, a subsidiary of TMX Group.

A committed community leader, he serves as Treasurer for the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation and chairs the Working Committee of the World Federation of Exchanges.
