Lorne Shillinger

Lorne forged his career with KPMG over the past 38 years, rising to Partner and leadership positions in the firm’s Real Estate practice, as well as serving on the KPMG Board of Directors. He is currently the KPMG National Family Office Tax Leader, GTA Family Office Leader and a Partner in the Real Estate Tax practice.

Influencing transformational change, shaping organizational structure, and guiding multiple generations through the evolving tax landscape is at the core of Lorne’s practice, as is his commitment to developing mutually rewarding and sustained client and professional relationships. Lorne has also been at the leading edge of shaping federal tax legislation of real estate investment trusts by speaking, writing, and advising extensively on issues concerning taxation in the real estate sector.

In 2020, he returned to school to earn the Family Enterprise Advisor designation, representing the pinnacle of professional expertise in understanding family enterprises.

Always willing to give back, he also serves his community as a member of the finance and audit committee of Sinai Health Foundation and as Chair of the Audit Committee for Beth Tzedec Congregation.
