Peter Slan, FCPA, FCA

According to his colleagues, Peter’s career has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Starting in the real estate, consumer markets and finance groups at EY, he then ascended to leadership roles at Scotiabank, excelling in Investment Banking & Equity Capital Markets and International Wealth Management for over two decades. In 2022, he reached the pinnacle of his career as EVP & CFO at SmartCentres Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). Recognized as a relationship builder and inclusive leader, Peter has swiftly gained the trust of the company’s colleagues, board members and stakeholders.  

Active in volunteer leadership roles with Tel Aviv University Canada, United Jewish Appeal for Greater Toronto and Baycrest Foundation, Peter has also dedicated time to coach youth hockey for the Forest Hill Hockey Association.

Peter’s excellence has received acclaim from the University of Toronto where he was awarded the Alumni of Influence award in 2020 and from the Canadian Investor Relations Institute where he won the award for Best Investor Relations During a Corporate Transaction, acknowledging his leadership during an acquisition at Scotiabank in 2012.
