Usha Sthankiya, FCPA, FCA
A true trailblazer, Usha is recognized as one of the very first Canadian CPAs to identify the connection between finance, climate and sustainability.
Her career is bookended by roles at Deloitte, where she currently serves as Partner and National Practice Leader in Sustainability and Climate. Her previous roles include CFO and COO at Corporate Knights, an award-winning sustainable economy magazine. Never one to slow down, Usha is also an entrepreneur, founding the nutrition and strength training brand “eat.train.love” in 2012.
No matter the company, Usha’s contributions to the sector have played an important role in fast tracking the sustainability movement across Canada. Many of her peers note her as an expert in the field. Her colleagues have called Usha “the epitome of a CPA leader,” and a dedicated mentor, including marginalized and racialized youth through the Pinball Clemons Foundation.
Her message for future CPAs? The world is full of possibilities, but success begins with your determination to show up and go for it.
