William Thomas, FCPA, FCA
Bill Thomas is the Chairman and CEO of KPMG International responsible for over 265,000 employees who serve clients in 143 countries and was the youngest leader in his firm’s history to hold the position. Having been with the firm for over 35 years, Bill steadily rose to executive-level leadership roles including CEO and Senior Partner of KPMG in Canada and Chairman of KPMG’s Americas Region. During each stage of his career, he has propelled the firm’s global strategy throughout local, regional, and international geographies, always pairing pragmatism and creativity to deliver concrete results.
Bill is a member of the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council and Chair of the Global Public Policy Committee. He is also a founding member of the 30% Club Canada, promoting gender balance across leadership teams throughout Canada.
Bill’s leadership has been recognized with Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal by the Government of Canada and by Catalyst Canada with the Honours Champion Award. In 2008 he became a Fellow of CPABC and in 2020 he was honoured with their Lifetime Achievement Award.
