Toronto

An alum of the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, Igor’s areas of expertise center around assurance and advisory where he attends to complex areas of accounting, finance and valuations. Working with organizations to address needs related to financial reporting, transaction advisory, and supporting capital raises, Igor aims to provide timely insight and advice. In supporting individuals through matrimonial disputes, acquisitions and divestitures, and resolving financing requirements, he leverages extensive knowledge in financial modelling, market research, and his network.

His role with SMPAC is centred around representing boutique-size public practices in key areas of concern. These include: support for identifying and hiring future CPAs, the right-sizing of professional obligations and regulations, advocating for resources and information-sharing among peer practices, strengthening the bonds and networking opportunities between practices with complementary skillsets and areas of expertise, contributing feedback to standards-setting bodies (i.e. AASB, ACSB, etc.) representative of boutique-practice implications, and encouraging representative participation of our membership in issues that affect them the most.

Igor is a co-founder of a boutique public accounting firm, Kostioutchenko and Patel, CPAs, Professional Corporation (o/a K&P CPAs). In addition to public practice, he is (i) a tenured mentor for startup businesses for the Entrepreneurship Hatchery operated by the University of Toronto, (ii) a part-time practice inspector with CPA Ontario, (iii) an Audit and Finance committee member for the CBV Institute, and (iv) a benefactor for his former regiment with the Canadian Armed Forces.
