Carmela Pallotto, FCPA, FCA

In 2001, Carmela shattered glass ceilings by becoming the first female partner in KPMG’s GTA Financial Services Tax group. Today, she co-leads KPMG’s National FATCA/CRS/Qualified Intermediary Team, exemplifying leadership and expertise. Over her 30-year career at KPMG, Carmela has been a beacon of inspiration for aspiring female leaders, offering invaluable career advice and mentorship and empowering many to follow in her footsteps.

Carmela is an author and sought-after speaker on mutual fund taxation, debt instruments, derivatives, and financial institution taxation. Her expertise has earned her recognition as a leading female tax practitioner by International Tax Review in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021.

Beyond her professional achievements, Carmela is dedicated to giving back. She serves on the Joint Committee on Taxation of the Canadian Bar Association and CPA Canada, was a board member with the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Toronto and participated in the Taxation Working Group with the Investment Funds Institute of Canada.
