Richard McCombie, FCPA, FCMA

Richard’s pride in being a CPA shines through, and he is grateful for how the designation has supported him in his impressive 40-year career.

Richard held many leadership roles at the Cooperators Insurance Company at a time when the company earned 15 JD Power Awards – unrivaled in the industry. A passionate advocate for the important work of United Way, Richard has supported the organization at every level, helping to raise over $10 million for community programs.  

Since his retirement, Richard served as interim Executive Director for United Way Guelph-Wellington-Dufferin to steer the chapter through a challenging period. The organization now thrives with a successful model, and Richard remains an invaluable Board contributor.

A lifelong athlete, Richard’s prowess in football, golf, basketball and hockey led to his induction into the Collingwood Sports Hall of Fame as part of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association and North American Silver Stick Champion Bantam Legionaire’s.

Richard wants future CPAs to know that achieving your designation is the key that opens the doors to opportunity.
